Monir Khanjani, MSW, LCSW–C

Monir Khanjani is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her graduate degree from Syracuse University in 1998. She has worked with individuals and their families for 27 years.

Monir is a behavioral health professional with extensive experience in forensic and clinical settings. She currently serves as a Manager of Adult Forensic Services for Montgomery County, where she oversees specialized programs such as Mental Health Court, Clinical Assessment and Transition services, Jail Addiction services, and a 24/7 Peer Support contract. Her programs address the complex intersection of behavioral health and the justice system.

Monir brings advanced clinical expertise, including formal training in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and strong proficiency in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which she uses to support individuals in developing emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Her work emphasizes evidence-based practices, staff development, and system-level innovation to improve outcomes for justice-involved adults living with behavioral health challenges.

In addition, Monir has worked in a variety of multidisciplinary settings providing individual, family, and group therapeutic services. She has expertise in anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance abuse, separation and divorce, parenting and effective communication skills development. She has worked in private practice, group homes, residential, acute, and partial hospitalization programs.
